ZMEA: 12 papyri
Children are impressed when it comes to museums, history, the objects on display, but when it comes to Egypt, they are downright fascinated. No wonder! They come to the museum with some baggage of information from cartoons, movies or books, even if some of them are only kindergarten age. Due to the subject but especially the fact that they can see "real ancient objects" from Egypt, it makes us overwhelmed by the number of those who want to participate in the new museum education project entitled "The 12 papyri. From life to immortality in Ancient Egypt", a project that has as its source of inspiration and thematic support the ongoing exhibition at MNIT: "ZMEA - Gods and Mortals in Ancient Egypt".
"The main objective of our project is to stimulate children's interest in the history of Ancient Egypt, through the "stories" of the exceptional pieces exhibited. In no other civilization could there be a more harmonious union between "history" and "story". What the story does in this context is to
facilitate the transition to a far away "then" of history, to open the path to the fascinating Egypt more easily and playfully, states Dr. Monica Bodea, the project coordinator.
The project is structured on 12 activities/12 papyri and will last until December 2023. The project is carried out in partnership with the Haihui Association among words, coordinated by Prof. primary. Luminita Bratu.
The first papyrus revealed its mystery: "Ornaments of Ancient Egypt: Bracelets".
11 remain to be deciphered. See you soon!
